Week 4 Day 2; Contentment
Luke 3:14 Likewise the soldiers asked him, saying, "And what shall we do?" So he said to them, "Do not intimidate anyone or accuse falsely, and be content with your wages."
I have never had a job. I do not know what it would be like to be unhappy with the money I'd make. I have however, heard others complain about the amount they make. There are two people who fall into this category. One: those who spend their wages, then complain they do not make enough. And two: those who save intensily and still complain they do not make enough. Each one shows a man of wealth and a man of poor, but both have one thing in common. Greed. The BIble says in 1 TIm. 6:10 that mmoney is the root of all evil. They say money speaks and that surre rings true. It causes people to murder, covet, and steal. It's so sad that our hearts are so concerned with what we have and don't have, that we are willing to submit to this evil. I am a victim of this. Growing up, I was truly blesses with the items I did have, but that didn't stop me from wanting the things that I didn't have. Material things had taken root in my heart. Even if I had never sinned, I knew I did in my heart. And that is where the biggest sin takes place; in the heart. We know that man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart.
Application: For the rest of this week I will pray for the Lord to search and create in me a clean heart.

Week 23 Luke 5:24 “But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”- He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed and go to your house.” When Jesus cleansed those who asked to be cleansed, we see that He always did so with greater purpose in mind. Week 5 Day 5; Obedience Hebrews 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable to you. Being in Ignite has been such a blessing to me through all the staff who give up their time and rights to serve us. With that, we should be respectful and listen to what they have to say. This verse has reminded about what Austin talked about eariler this week about being a liability versus an asset. We signed up fot this program to surrender our rights and privleges because we wanted to see change. If we continue to walk in our own ways because we think we know better, we're only hurting ourselves. We're wasting their time and effort when their just trying to bless us and help us seek the Lord. Who wouldn't want that? So many times I have found myself becoming overwhelmed by the amount of things I need to do that I just end up not getting

Week 19 Psalm 27:13-14: “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!” We know that all things work together for good to those who love God. For each heart that loves, God has set a purpose. I’ve heard a lot that our culture is one of the most impatient and there is good reason for that. We have everything we want almost instantly; no need to wait anymore. But I think one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned to let got year down my pride. I always thought I obtained godly characteristics, but I know I always fall short of those expectations. God has always had a plan and when I can’t see the blueprint clearly I freak and complain.
