Week 4 Day 1; Contentment
"Now godliness  with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content."-1 Timothy 6:6-8
Humility is simplicity. Jesus was a simple man. During His minitsry He had no home, sometimes money, or food. Jesus was humble; He didn't covet material things. He wanted people to know Him the way He knew the Father. So often times, I find myself coveting my brothers and sisters in Christ. I see the strong family connections and the godly parents who lead their children in truth. All of my life I have longed for my parents to know the Lord, that we might finally have true relationships. This verse in convicting for me because I need to be content with the life the Lord has given to me today. I know God has a plan for my life. I know He desires relationship. I know the Lord desires for my parents to know Him, but it has to be in His own timing. We come into this world alone and we leave alone. I can't even try to carry my parents to salvation. I need to be content in today and trust in Him to bring my desires to pass. Our hearts have a wide range wants and sometimes even things we don't want. It's hard to be satisifed with the things we don't have and even harder to be satisified with the things we do have.
Application: Today I will write three ways I am content and three desires I hope to be content with

Week 23 Luke 5:24 “But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”- He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed and go to your house.” When Jesus cleansed those who asked to be cleansed, we see that He always did so with greater purpose in mind. To cleanse the heart and to give hope to the lost. Often times i find myself paralyzed by fear, allusions, circumstances, whatever it may be. But God. Week 5 Day 5; Obedience Hebrews 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable to you. Being in Ignite has been such a blessing to me through all the staff who give up their time and rights to serve us. With that, we should be respectful and listen to what they have to say. This verse has reminded about what Austin talked about eariler this week about being a liability versus an asset. We signed up fot this program to surrender our rights and privleges because we wanted to see change. If we continue to walk in our own ways because we think we know better, we're only hurting ourselves. We're wasting their time and effort when their just trying to bless us and help us seek the Lord. Who wouldn't want that? So many times I have found myself becoming overwhelmed by the amount of things I need to do that I just end up not getting

Week 24 Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have toward you, says the Lord, plans of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Looking back over the past six months has been nothing short of the Lord’s plan all along. In the midst of trouble it’s hard to see the light at the end, but He’s always been there. I see His faithfulness in every good or hard day. During the presentation of the Potter, Pastor Michael mentions that every piece of clay has a specific purpose. Whether that clay is used immediately or in years, it never goes to waste. I can look back on my own life and think of every time I believed that this or that could never bring glory to my Creator. But once again, He has never failed me. He doesn’t just have one plan for us although we’re still headed towards one destination. There are many plans He has set in motion for us.
