Week 2 Day 4
2 Corinthians 1:12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.
The Bible tells us there is only one thing we can boast in; the work that Jesus did on the cross. Without the sacrifice on the cross, we in ourselves could not save. We indeed needed the grace of God. How sweet it is to understand the love shared with us when we came to Christ. We could love ourselves, but never as much as Jesus did. We can try to fill our lives with material things that make us happy, but we will never know true joy. A picture is painted like this: a cup may be completely full to the brim, but will never truly be full until that cup overflows. That is the freedom we have because of the cross. That is why we can so freely give what we have to others, because our source is endless. Our testimonies will never truly be ours because we all have different stories but one same denominator: Jesus on the cross. All our testimonies are the same in Jesus. This is hopefully an encouragement to non-believers when they hear our testimonies. They will be able to follow, as we have followed Christ. May we boast in this till we reach eternity.
