Week 12 Day 1; Teachable
Mark 4:10-11 "But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. And He said to them, "To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables".
Jesus has just explained the parable of the sower. We know from the text what Jesus was teaching to the crowds, but I think of the disciples who had walked with Jesus yet did not understand. Why is that? I do not know. But Jesus shares here why some did not understand. Basically He says that those who know Him will understand but those who dont will not comprehend. Now I now that sometimes we can not understand what God means until He reveals it to us. Some things are not for us to know. But I believe that if God speaks specificaly to you, He wants you to understand. He desired fo you to assk Him questions, because that builds relationships. And the more you know Him, the more youo will understand His character. I think of how Austin follows in Pastor Mike's footsteps. They know each other from relationship, so they are able to determine their characteristics and gain knowledge of how to lead. This is how Jesus wants us to be; He wants us to observe, ask questions, and to act as He acts.
Application: God has asked be to abide, but I'm not completely sure how. I will ask and pray to God to open my eyes, and then ask a leader about

Week 23 Luke 5:24 “But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”- He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed and go to your house.” When Jesus cleansed those who asked to be cleansed, we see that He always did so with greater purpose in mind. Week 5 Day 5; Obedience Hebrews 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable to you. Being in Ignite has been such a blessing to me through all the staff who give up their time and rights to serve us. With that, we should be respectful and listen to what they have to say. This verse has reminded about what Austin talked about eariler this week about being a liability versus an asset. We signed up fot this program to surrender our rights and privleges because we wanted to see change. If we continue to walk in our own ways because we think we know better, we're only hurting ourselves. We're wasting their time and effort when their just trying to bless us and help us seek the Lord. Who wouldn't want that? So many times I have found myself becoming overwhelmed by the amount of things I need to do that I just end up not getting

Week 19 Psalm 27:13-14: “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!” We know that all things work together for good to those who love God. For each heart that loves, God has set a purpose. I’ve heard a lot that our culture is one of the most impatient and there is good reason for that. We have everything we want almost instantly; no need to wait anymore. But I think one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned to let got year down my pride. I always thought I obtained godly characteristics, but I know I always fall short of those expectations. God has always had a plan and when I can’t see the blueprint clearly I freak and complain.
