Week 11 Day 4; Discipline
2 Samuel 11:11-13 "And Uriah said to David, "The ark and Israel and Judah are dwelling in tents, and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord are encamped in the open fields. Shall I then go to my house to eat and drink, and to lie with my wife? As you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing." Then David said to Uriah, "Wait here today also, and tomorrow I will let you depart." So Uriah remained in Jerusalem that day and the next. Now when David called him, he ate and drank before him: and he made him drunk. And at evening he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but he did not go down to his house."
In this story we can look at two types of people. The amn who is discipled and one who is not. David could not withhold his sexual desire and now he was in a sticky situation. He made out schemes to decieve Uriah for the mistake he had made. Uriah on the other hand, had just returned from war. Even though he was not currently in the battle, he was still loyal to his men and his mission. This is a great example and encouragement of the temptaions will look like when we arrive home for a little while. We have the choice to be on either side of the line. Who do I want to resemble? A man who is unfaithful, decieving, and living in the flesh? Or a man who is loyal, willing, and knows his calling? These past three months have prepared us to fight agaisn't the evil we were once exposed to. I'm ready to put on the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, shield of faith, and the helmet of salvation. The battle is aways raging on; Lord be my strength and sustinace everyday.

Week 23 Luke 5:24 “But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”- He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed and go to your house.” When Jesus cleansed those who asked to be cleansed, we see that He always did so with greater purpose in mind. Week 5 Day 5; Obedience Hebrews 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable to you. Being in Ignite has been such a blessing to me through all the staff who give up their time and rights to serve us. With that, we should be respectful and listen to what they have to say. This verse has reminded about what Austin talked about eariler this week about being a liability versus an asset. We signed up fot this program to surrender our rights and privleges because we wanted to see change. If we continue to walk in our own ways because we think we know better, we're only hurting ourselves. We're wasting their time and effort when their just trying to bless us and help us seek the Lord. Who wouldn't want that? So many times I have found myself becoming overwhelmed by the amount of things I need to do that I just end up not getting

Week 19 Psalm 27:13-14: “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!” We know that all things work together for good to those who love God. For each heart that loves, God has set a purpose. I’ve heard a lot that our culture is one of the most impatient and there is good reason for that. We have everything we want almost instantly; no need to wait anymore. But I think one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned to let got year down my pride. I always thought I obtained godly characteristics, but I know I always fall short of those expectations. God has always had a plan and when I can’t see the blueprint clearly I freak and complain.
